The Lakeview Neighborhood of New Orleans
Lakeview – named for its close proximity to Lake Pontchartrain – is a popular New Orleans neighborhood filled with frame cottages and brick ranch-style homes. This section of the city is bound by Lakeshore Drive / Lake Pontchartrain, Orleans Avenue, City Park Avenue, and the 
Jefferson Parish line.
Lakeview residents consider the area’s biggest and most treasured attraction is the beautiful City Park. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. The park holds everything from bike paths and fishing lagoons to an amusement park, put-put golf and festival grounds. It also hosts the world’s largest collection of mature live oaks. Upcoming additions to the park will include a golf course and splash park.
Other nearby amenities to Lakeview include Bayou St. John, the Lakefront, New Orleans Museum of Art, multiple local restaurants and shopping options.
